Actor Bo Svenson has joined the cast of “Sorry, Dad,” a digital feature film about the formative years of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer.

Svenson, whose movie credits include “Kill Bill — Vol. 2,” “Speed 2: Cruise Control,” “Heartbreak Ridge” and “North Dallas Forty,” has been cast as a police detective in the independent production, which recently began filming in Kansas City. He is expected to arrive here early next week.

Directed by local filmmaker Rich Ambler and featuring a cast of local performers, “Sorry, Dad” was co-written and produced by Wood Dickinson, former CEO of the locally based Dickinson Theatre chain. This is the first production by Renegade Pictures.

By concentrating on the character of Dahmer’s father, Lionel Dahmer, the film will examine universal questions, such as the role parents play in the choices their children make, Dickinson said.
